The Department of Energy recommends an R-38 to R-49 as the optimum insulation R-Value range for maximum energy efficiency. We use Applegate Cellulose Insulation because it provides a superior value. This "green" insulation is environmentally friendly, is made of 80-85% recycled newsprint, and it provides an R-Value of 3.8 per inch. For our customers that prefer foam insulation, we use a product called SWD Urethane. SWD foam insulation is environmentally friendly, is proven to reduce energy use, is zero ozone depleting, formaldehyde/VOC free, and promotes sustainable design.
